A worthwhile trip to the northernmost  province in Thailand include a beautiful scenic spots such as Doi Tung Royal Villa,
the Mae Fah Luang botanical garden and
the mountaintop Wat Phrathat Doi Tung built
in 1943.    

The Golden Triangle is the point where
Laos, Thai, and Myanmar converges with
the Mekong River, located 12 kilometers
from Chiang Saen.

How to get to Chiang Rai :
1) By airplane from Bangkok
which will take 1 hr. 10 min.
2) By airplane from Chiangmai
will take only 30 minutes.
3) By bus from Bangkok to
Chiangmai then to Chiang Rai.
(This is a long drive for a total
distance of  785 kilometers
or 488 miles).
4) By train from Bangkok to
Chiangmai and by bus from
Chiangmai to Chiang Rai.
5) A trip by car from Chiangmai
to Chiang Rai (with photos).
