  The former Inthanon Research Station (now the Royal Agricultural
Station Inthanon) is under the Royal Project established by the royal desire of His Majesty the King to improve the living of the hill tribes.
The Project supports the hill tribes to grow the new alternative crops
as substitute for opium, and to have permanent agricultural land
instead of slash-and-burn farming as a trick to prevent destroying
the forest. Besides these, there are also researching about crop development and plants of mild weather.

The Research Station has become a popular tourist site where a
lot of them come and enjoy the wonderful scenery of various kinds
of flowers, fruits and vegetables.
